The Eye Level English Challenge has been held since 2016. It is also known as the “Eye Level Phonics Challenge”. The English Challenge is suitable for students from Kindergarten K2 to Primary 2. Students need to answer 30 questions in a written format. The questions mainly test students’ listening skills for English Phonics, including Beginning Sound, Ending Sound, and vowels.
Details
The English Challenge consists of 30 questions in 6 sections. Each section focuses on the different learning aspects of English learning and tests their Phonics, listening, and English understanding. Pre-recorded English instructions and questions will be played. Students need to follow the instructions and answer the questions.
Eligibility
Eye Level English Challenge is suitable for K2, K3, Primary 1 and Primary 2 students. At the Kindergarten level, students are not required to write letters and will instead be given a multiple-choice or link-up answer form to increase student’s confidence in learning English. In Primary grade, students need to write the correct answers through listening with graphic hints. All vocabulary and content suitable for that school grade and students can show what they learn in this challenge.
